Model Prayer

Many of us grew up praying this prayer in the course of a worship service. The pastor may have led in a pastoral prayer and concluded it saying, “ We pray all this in the Name of the one who taught us to pray, ‘Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.’” A friend recently told me that he prays this prayer every day. Whether we pray it often, or as a formal part of a worship service, remember, Jesus said, “Pray, then, in this way:”
